Day 18: Sarah's Thoughts

Why do moms blog? I don’t know. And truth is I don’t really care investigating since what I read too many great mom blogs to even pause to question their motives, save when I read one-too-many-bleah-reviews raving the heavens about something mundane like stickers . Smells too much like the blogger conspiring with a paying advertiser to ferret money out of my pocket.

Why do I blog? Now, that is something I really ought to know AND care. And that is something you probably would like to know too since you are a reader here.

Why do I write the things I write? Well, actually I would really write a whole load more if I wasn’t this bad at juggling my household chores. But like some of you may already know, I’m still working my way up the path of Saint Supermom-hood.

Day 17: Summer's Thoughts

Writing has been a passion of mine since I was a kid.

I remember how I would save up pocket money to buy a diary that comes with a lock and key. It would be my 'secret' book where I wrote down my feelings, experiences and even crushes.

Subsequently, I began to find it troublesome having to unlock the book every time and when the key finally got lost, I switched to writing in notebooks, which eventually started to build up in stacks.

Then the internet came along and I would occasionally jot down my thoughts using MS Word. Hooray! That saved the worry about running out of storage space for the bulky books!

When blogging came along and I lay my hands on it for the first time, I instantaneously knew that I had fallen in love.

Day 16: Adeline's Thoughts

I have been a "blogger" since 2005.

Well, not really full-fledged-wordy-kind of blogger that chronicles everything about what I do but considering that blogger.com hosts my blogshop, I am a "blogger"? Okay, not funny! Like what MummyMoo would say to me, I must have had cornflakes* for breakfast! (*and that's why I was being corny.)

Day 14: Alicia's Thoughts

I first started blogging in 2006 for a year before I became pregnant (in a different blog sphere) and life sort of halted for a bit. I then started this blog with the grand intention of blogging about the early days of lovely parenthood. I had visions of a perfect me glowing in a perfectly matching outfit with my little one where we meet my girlfriends and lift our pinkies while drinking tea. :p

Life certainly has a weird way of throwing you off the curve because shortly after the birth of Dumpling, Post Natal Depression hit. It took a while for me to adjust to life with a 2 dogs and a baby. Around the same period, shortly after I returned to work, a total of three departments were made redundant. My department was one of them and so, I had to hunt for a new job all over again after being comfortably “settled” in the previous company for almost 4 years.

Day 13: Sandra's Thoughts

The Lingering Thought - The Genesis of SANses

All endeavors start out simply. With a thought, a dream, a vision - that simply refuses to go away. My blog started out with a lingering thought as well. I felt I had something I wanted to say, and wanted to have an outlet to express my point of view. Were the blogs out there representative of MY point of view? I didn't think so, not all, and in particularly not some. Is my blog representative of your point of view? I have no illusions that they are, but the point is to provide an alternative perspective, a different point of view, and hopefully a refreshing tone of voice.

Day 8: Mrs Kam's Thoughts

Why moms blog? Why I blog?

I started this blog a few months after giving birth to Hao Re, my first child. I had not thought of blogging before that as I was not tech savvy and never thought that it's so easy to create a blog! At that time, I got to know a group of fellow mummies through a forum, and a few of them kept* a blog (*note that it's a past tense, as most of them had stopped updating their blog, only left with very few of us who still blogs diligently till now). There was one mum (who had also stopped blogging for years) who wrote very well and so beautifully about her love for her baby. I was very, very touched reading her blog. Right then, when Hao Re was about 7 months old, I decided I should at least give blogging a try, as I wanted a place desperately where I can "pour" my feeling and thoughts to (it's very overwhelming to be a new mum!). So I register a blog address with blogger (later moved it to a paid domain when my blog was 3 years old, but still hosting on blogger as I love how user friendly it is).

Day 7: Adora's Thoughts

I've been blogging since 2008. So far I've blogged through 2 pregnancies, 1 stretch of maternity leave, full-time-working-mum status, stay-at-home-mum days and now work-at-home-mum-with-business-on-top-of-two-kids crazy days. So no, it's not just a fling. We're serious about each other and even intend to apply for a flat together some time in the near future.

Oh and it also serves as an excellent form of communication between Max and I.

Day 5: Jiahui's Thoughts

As of tomorrow, I’ll be a one-month old blogger! Woohoohoo!

I looked at my posts and realised I covered quite a range of topics from Toilet Squats to Sex Talks toLiving in the 80s. I’ve 12 posts in 30 days, does that make me a prolific blogger, an irregular blogger, or a moderate one?

Well, it ain’t important. Honestly, the real objective of starting a blog has barely been met. Now that I’ve my own platform to voice my thoughts, I’ve not gotten down to really talking about IT.

Let me give you a brief background first. I’ve a wonderful husband, Edmund, who is, in his own rights, an avid blogger at Edunloaded.com. Since he started blogging, I’ve guest blogged once in a while, when I have an opinion about something, or when our family goes through some situations. It was good to give a mummy’s voice.

Day 4: Winnie's Thoughts

When I started blogging years ago, I wanted to try owning a digital diary where I could 'pen' my thoughts and claim a small part of the digital space as mine. In those days, I would blog about life in general and even include a poem or two.

Then motherhood came. I was so enthusiastic about this new journey I wanted to blog everyday, to chronicle the amazing moments and share them with everyone in the enormous worldwide web. Of course in reality, that was not possible.

The idea that mothers have a lot of free time because of our long maternity leave is a farce. Whatever free time a mother has is dedicated to the baby. Add to the equation a breastfeeding baby who needs to be fed on average every two to three hours, each time taking between thirty minutes to an hour, there really isn't much time to do anything else. It is even more difficult when you have two kids and have to spread your love and attention.

Day 2: Regina's Thoughts

I took to reading blogs when it became hugely popular in the 1990s. I love how snippets of personal experiences and feelings were shared. I enjoyed reading through posts, and figuring out the person behind the online persona. There were those which kept me engaged, and there were those which were mostly a portal to a life filled with fantasy... and those were the ones which amused me for hours on end. Either ways, blogs opened up my eyes to a whole world of different personalities, and taught me a lesson or two in life.

Day 1: Rachel's Thoughts

I get this question quite often from friends who are non bloggers, “Where do you find the time to blog?”

Time is what you make of it.

Blogging has become a significant part of my life, so I make time for it. No doubt, blogging on some days, take more time then I should since I am not very adept at churning out speed articles.

So Why do I blog?
